Box City

October 19-20, 2013

On Saturday, October 19-Sunday, October 20, Holman Stadium in Nashua will be home to Box City 2013, an overnight event to raise money and awareness for Anne-Marie House (AMH). AMH supports children and families experiencing homelessness by providing temporary housing, wholesome meals, transportation and life skills programs.

Box City is a youth-focused event open to youth minded groups and families. We encourage services clubs, school groups, boy scout/girl scout groups, faith-based youth groups and other youth organizations to use this event as a learning opportunity. Participants build and sleep in cardboard box homes or tents in the Holman Stadium outfield. A minimum of one adult chaperone per five youth under 18 is required. Each group or family is asked to provide their own chaperone for the event.

Box City builders also enjoy a simple soup supper, music and activities, and a Box City “Main Street,” on which local businesses can support Anne-Marie House by purchasing a “lot” and building alongside our event participants. If you are a local business and would like to purchase a lot on Main Street, please call (603) 883-7338, ext. 5 or click here for more information.

**Please note all participants are required to bring their own cardboard boxes and/or tents to sleep in.**

HOW DOES IT WORK?

1.  Register online and submit your $15 registration fee. You may also choose to register on the night of the event at $20 per person.

2. Upon registering, you will be sent an information packet about the event, which includes a pledge form and instructions for picking up your “House for Change” — two tools to help you start your pledge-gathering!

3. Collect pledges for AMH using the pledge form and “House for Change” collection box. Ask friends and family to support you and AMH with a donation. Every dollar makes a difference!

4. Come to Holman Stadium in Nashua on Saturday, October 19 at 4:00PM, build your box home or set up your tent, participate in meaningful and fun activities about homelessness in your community and sleep overnight outside in the outfield! Box City is held rain, shine, or even snow!
