What makes a house a home?  Everyone probably has their own answer. 

For Anne-Marie House (AMH) children and families, it is a safe, secure place, with a rug in the parlor for children to play on, warm beds, simple meals and a supportive caring environment. AMH is a place where families can get their lives back together and move on to housing independence.  The snow may swirl around and the icicles will hang from the roof, but inside Anne-Marie House, it’s warm in many ways. 

Because of this environment and the support our children and families receive, they are able to move on to independent living safely, quickly and sustainably. This year alone five families with their children graduated from our program — five families no longer dependent on friends’ couches or sleeping in the backs of cars.

We are asking you – our volunteers, existing donors, community partners and friends – to help keep Anne-Marie House a warm place to be this winter by helping to “Heat Our Home.” Each dollar given to this initiative will help defray the cost of our massive heating oil bill. At about $3.40/gallon and a 2,500 gallon fill-up looming in December, we anticipate an $8,500 bill. Anne-Marie House fundraises to pay this cost so our families don’t have to and so they can continue to save their income for a home of their own.

If you who have contributed to Anne-Marie House this year we would like to sincerely thank you.  We are proud of our mission to support families with children who are experiencing homelessness.  We hope you will keep us in mind as you plan for the coming year. • $50 will purchase 15 gallons of heating oil
